Back to School Blues No More

ree

Going back to school after an extended holiday means going back to schedules and a routine. Unfortunately, it also can mean going back to unwanted situations that create havoc with our schedules and our emotions—one being head lice.

Just thinking about lice can create an itchy sensation. They are the least wanted problems that anyone, but especially parents of school-age children, wants to deal with. Lice spread by close personal contact, thus the main reason elementary-age children get lice most often.

Generally, a parent will be guided toward an over-the-counter treatment for the hair.

However, these products can have adverse effects besides allergic reactions and actually contain different types of insecticides.

In many studies, Melaleuca oil has been found to be 100 percent effective against head lice. The Melaleuca Wellness Guide has an entire chapter discussing head lice, why it is so pervasive, and how to safely rid you and your family of lice forever, and discusses in detail how the properties of Melaleuca Oil work to kill lice and prevent further infestation.

Some physicians recognise that Melaleuca oil has been shown to kill lice and recommend shampooing with products that contain this oil. The Melaleuca Wellness Guide recommends using Melaleuca Original Shampoo, which contains T36-C5 Melaleuca Oil upon first evidence of lice. Continued use can also prevent any further infestation.

In conjunction with Melaleuca Oil, Lavender Oil was shown in a study to help suffocate lice after one day of using products containing Melaleuca and Lavender Oils. As a preventative measure, mix 3 drops T36-C5 Melaleuca Oil and 3 drops of Lavender Oil with water in a 4 ounce spray bottle. Shake well and spray on hair before brushing. Use on dry hair once a day.

To feel completely free of lice in your home be sure to wash all linens and clothing with MelaPower and Sol-U-Mel. Spraying the entire house with a mixture of Sol-U-Mel, which contains T36-C5 Melaleuca Oil, will also further rid you of any possible lice.

Having lice doesn’t need to have the bad connotation when you do get that call from your child’s school, if you already have a plan and products handy. To avoid the dreaded call, follow the ideas mentioned for prevention in The Melaleuca Wellness Guide.
